Real Strawberry Milkshake Method

Whether using shop bought strawberries, or strawberries grown at home or on the allotment, our strawberry milkshake recipe using about the same amount of fruit per person as a desert sized portion.

If using homegrown strawberries, making strawberry milkshake is a good way of using up healthy fruit that may not look as pretty as shop bought fruit.

Give the strawberries a good soak and rinse before preparing.

The recipe uses only three ingredients: strawberries, milk, and a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream. These are all added together to a smoothie maker, blender, or chopper. Give the mixture a really good whiz, perhaps checking a couple of times to loosen any bits that may have risen up the sides.

When you are happy with the consistency it is ready for serving.

We think the milkshake tastes best when drunk through a straw. Drink straight away to enjoy a refreshing chilled drink – courtesy of the ice cream.
