In the battle against slugs, sometimes it is best to admit defeat and change tactic. Having had our courgettes devoured overnight, the next night I went with a camera and captured the cause of the problem – this time on our globe artichoke.
Usually our plot is relatively slug free. This year I am planning to change tactic. Courgettes and squash will now be planted in large pots standing in trays filled with water. Unless slugs can swim, this should work!
See our post on slug control.
