Onions are easy to grow, but on our plot there is always a battle to keep weeds at bay. A hoe once a week ensures that the plants receive all the light and moisture that is available..

We are pleased with the harvest this year. The sets were planted in late March and nearly all have matured to harvest. They may not look as beautiful as shop bought onions, but after washing and removing the outer leaves they end up looking just as good – and taste better!

See our page on how to grow onions.
